What it cannot do yet

  • Be bought: all 2026 production is committed to Hyundai and Google DeepMind, with no price published
  • Be a home robot: Boston Dynamics markets Atlas as an enterprise product and calls home robots a long-term goal

Atlas is Boston Dynamics’ humanoid, and one of the most searched robots for price. The answer is that it has no public price and is built for factories. Boston Dynamics launched the production version at CES on January 5, 2026 as an enterprise product.

Specs

Boston Dynamics lists a fully electric humanoid with 56 degrees of freedom and fully rotational joints, a reach of 2.3 m (7.5 ft) and a lift capacity of up to 50 kg (110 lb). It operates from -20 to 40 degrees Celsius and is water-resistant. It swaps its own batteries and returns to charging stations without stopping work. Humanoids Daily’s CES report adds a height of 1.9 m (6.2 ft), a weight of 90 kg (198 lb), a sustained payload of 30 kg, about four hours on dual self-swappable batteries and an IP67 rating. Atlas can run autonomously, be teleoperated, or be steered from a tablet. Safety features include human detection and fenceless guarding.

Who gets it

Boston Dynamics says all 2026 Atlas deployments are already committed. The first fleets go to Hyundai’s Robotics Metaplant Application Center and Google DeepMind, which is integrating its Gemini Robotics models. Humanoids Daily reports that Hyundai is the first and largest customer, and that the company expects to open orders to additional early adopters in 2027. Hyundai’s stated target is factory work at its Georgia Metaplant by 2028.

Price

Boston Dynamics has published no price. Any figure you see online is an estimate, not a company price. Without a published price list or a purchase channel, the price guide leaves Atlas out of any cost comparison.

Home use

Boston Dynamics describes home robots only as a long-term goal and says it hopes for “useful robots that can walk into our homes.” Atlas’s use cases are material handling, order fulfillment and industrial tasks. A 90 kg robot that can lift 50 kg is a very different safety problem from a household robot. Why it matters to a home buyer

Atlas shows what the industrial side of the field can do. For now it is a reference point, not an option.
