Bumi
A 94 cm hobby humanoid pre-sold in China for 9,998 yuan (about $1,370). A toy-class robot, not a chore helper; deliveries unconfirmed.
What it cannot do yet
- Do household chores: it is a 94 cm hobby and education robot
- Be ordered from outside China: the only pre-sale we could verify is on JD.com for China
- Be confirmed as delivered: no independent report of customers receiving one turned up
Bumi is the humanoid that broke the 10,000-yuan barrier. Noetix Robotics, a Chinese startup, opened a pre-sale on JD.com on October 27, 2025 at 9,998 yuan, which Humanoids Daily converted to about $1,370. It is the cheapest humanoid on the tracker by a wide margin, and also the least useful for housework.
What it is
Bumi stands 94 cm (about 3 feet) tall and weighs 12 kg (about 26 pounds), per Humanoids Daily. Noetix aims it at the consumer and hobbyist market rather than research labs, and stresses an open programming interface for education and creative development. It is a small robot for showing off and tinkering, not something that carries groceries or loads a dishwasher, and Noetix does not claim chores.
Price math
The 9,998-yuan figure is the pre-sale price on JD.com. The dollar number is a conversion by Humanoids Daily at the time and will move with the exchange rate. See the price guide for how this compares with a $20,000 NEO.
Delivery status
The October 2025 report said 523 units were booked, deposits were due by December 12, 2025 and final payments by mid-January 2026. The first batch was to ship in March 2026 and a second in April. We could not find an independent confirmation that units reached customers. The pre-sale listing we can verify is on JD.com for China, and we could not confirm any overseas channel or that the listing is still open. That is why this robot is tracked as announced and not as shipping or pre-order.
What is unconfirmed
Degrees of freedom, battery life, payload, warranty, software support, and what data the robot sends to servers. Noetix did not publish those in a source we could open.
Safety note
Noetix publishes no safety information that we could find, and any walking robot can fall. If you have toddlers or pets, read are humanoid robots safe around kids and pets.
Who it is for
Families and hobbyists in China who want a tiny programmable humanoid at a low price. If you want a robot that actually does chores, note that no humanoid under $10,000 in the sources we reviewed claims household chores; compare Unitree R1, 1X NEO and the robot vacuum comparison.
